I
I truly love meeting families and capturing the sweet moments that pass far too quickly. I never imagined that taking photos of a few friends’ newborn babies would turn into a small business I absolutely love! Each newborn is special to me, and I have so much fun planning a beautiful, unique session for every family. In fact, it’s one of my favorite things to do.
Newborns hold such a special place in my heart, and while I often think they’re my favorite stage… then a sweet, squishy little baby comes in who has just learned to sit up and gives me the most adorable smiles. In that moment I think, maybe this is my favorite stage.
Then they return for their one-year session. The fun of smashing the cake, splashing in the tub, and their pure delight makes me think — no, this might be my favorite.
Truthfully, it’s hard to choose. Every stage of baby’s first year is so special in its own way.
One of the things I love most about family sessions is meeting new families and capturing the genuine smiles, laughter, and connection that make every family unique. And for the returning families, it’s always such an honor that you’ve returned another year and so much fun to see how your kids have grown.
We have four children who are the loves of our lives. Being a mom has been the greatest blessing of my life.
Eighteen years ago we began a new chapter in Kansas and have loved the friendships, the seasons, and the life we've built here.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually enjoying the simple things in life:
- Bike rides and long walks outside — bonus if it’s by water… the ocean, a lake, or even a little creek.
- Spending time with my family, including our two girls and twin boys .
- Time with friends and carving out time with my hubby.
- A quiet faith in God that shapes how I love and serve others.
- Lemonade smoothies and caramel frappuccinos are my guilty pleasures.
Family
I absolutely love vacations and traveling. While we don’t get away as often as my mind travels, we truly love our trips — whether it’s with our family, friends, or just my husband and me.
We haven’t ventured too far outside the U.S. yet, aside from trips to Mexico and Canada, but exploring new places together is something we really enjoy. Some of our favorite adventures include visiting National Parks, traveling to sunny destinations like San Diego and Florida, and spending time anywhere with mountains or beaches.
We’re also slowly trying to see all 50 states. I think we’ve made it to about 40 so far, so we still have a few adventures ahead of us!
There’s just something about fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a change of pace that fills my cup.
